Compass Precision Acquires Pocasset Machine

Main Street Portfolio Company Taps into Exciting New A&D End-Market with the Acquisition of its Ninth Operating Division

July 17, 2025 – Main Street Capital Holdings, LLC, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Pocasset Machine Corporation by its portfolio company, Compass Precision, LLC.  Located in Bourne, MA, Pocasset is Compass’s second acquisition in the New England area and the first division to focus on the autonomous underwater vehicle (‘AUV’) end-market.

Pocasset was founded in 1977 by the father of Barry and Chris Kent, who were the owners of the business prior to the acquisition by Compass.  Pocasset provides complete manufacturing solutions to customers consisting of CNC turning and milling, welding, assembly, and inspection.  The Company is located in the village of Pocasset in the town of Bourne, MA on the western side of Cape Cod.  The Company has strong relationships with customers in the defense, life sciences, and oceanographic industries.  In particular, the defense and oceanographic industries have seen significant growth on Cape Cod over the past several decades with the expansion of the AUV end-market.
